Horizon Monobloc folding arm awning

Imagine stepping outside on a hot summer afternoon and having instant shade exactly where you need it. No harsh glare, no overheating deck — just a comfortable space to relax, entertain, or unwind.

The Horizon Monobloc awning gives you the freedom to enjoy your outdoor area on your terms. Whether it’s a quiet morning coffee, a weekend BBQ with friends, or keeping your home cooler during peak sun, it creates a space that works every day — not just when the weather is perfect.

Built to handle Auckland’s changing conditions and strong summer sun, it’s designed for reliable, everyday use. It’s the kind of upgrade that quickly becomes part of your routine.

More comfort. More usability. More time outside.

When the Horizon Makes More Sense vs Casette Awnings

Not every space needs a fully enclosed cassette awning.

The Horizon is a more open design, which makes it a good fit when you want a more light-weigh awning or a more cost-effective solution, without stepping down too far in quality.

It’s built with the same core materials — aluminium, stainless steel, quality fabrics — so it still handles New Zealand conditions well.

The main difference is how it’s protected when closed.

With the Horizon, the awning stays more exposed unless you add a hood or pelmet. That’s usually fine for covered areas, sheltered decks, or spaces where the awning isn’t taking the full hit from weather all the time.

Horizon vs Fetuna vs Ellipse vs Integral — What’s the Trade-Off?

If you’re deciding between our retractable awnings models, it comes down to protection vs flexibility.

✔ Fetuna awning is a heavy-duty cassette retractable awning — everything is sealed away when retracted.

✔ Integral awning is a smaller cassette awning — fits smaller spaces and works great when heavy-duty cassette is not required.

✔ Horizon is a heavy-duty open type awning — with optional hood protection, but not fully sealed.

✔ Ellipse is an entry-level folding arm awning – most budget-friendly and has the optional adjustable pitch.

What you get with the Horizon awning:

✔ Larger possible spans (great for wide outdoor areas) – up to 14 m long.

✔ More cost-efficient for big spaces

✔ Premium French design and components

✔ 3 hardware colours to choose from

✔ Simpler, more traditional folding-arm design

The Simple Way to Choose

✔ Go with Fetuna if:
→ you want maximum protection and a cleaner, premium finish

✔ Go with Horizon if:
→ you don’t need full enclosure of the cassette, or want a solid, reliable awning with European design

✔ Go with Ellipse if:
→ you need a cost-effective retractable awning that can cover a big deck, or want the adjustable pitch feature

✔ Go with Integral if:
→ you want a fully enclosed cassette awning, but don’t want to spend as much as the Fetuna

Optional half pelmet

Horizon monobloc awning can be fitted with an optional half pelmet. It is made of sturdy powder coated aluminium, matching the hardware colour of the awning.

The partial pelmet or an aluminium hood protects the fabric of the awning from the elements when the awning is fully retracted.

It also protects the awning from bird goo and other stains. It is lighter than a full pelmet and is more affordable.

It’s a premium open-style folding arm awning designed for durability and large coverage, making it ideal for patios, decks, and commercial outdoor areas.

How big can the Horizon Monobloc be?

A standard system can reach up to around 6m wide and 4m projection (approx. 24m² coverage), with custom systems available up to around 14m wide.

Is it manual or motorised?

Both options are available. You can choose a manual crank system or motorised operation with remote control, and even integrate it into smart home systems.

Can it handle wind and weather?

Yes—it’s built with aluminium and stainless steel components and can be fitted with wind, rain, or motion sensors to automatically retract in harsh conditions.

Yes—high-quality acrylic fabrics provide strong UV protection and help reduce heat and glare, making outdoor areas more comfortable.

Can I customise colours and fabrics?

Yes—there’s a wide range of fabric colours (75+ options) and hardware finishes, with custom powder coating available to match your space.

What is a half pelmet or hood?

It’s an optional aluminium cover that protects the fabric when the awning is retracted, helping extend its lifespan and keep it cleaner.
