SunGuard ClearVue® Aluminium Pergola installation
SunGuard ClearVue® Aluminium Pergola can be fitted onto new and existing pergolas using three main methods:
✓ standard glazing bars
✓ span bars
✓ installation onto the purlins (if the centres of the rafters on an existing pergola are not at 600/750 mm)
Each of these methods is used based on the project requirements and customer’s preferences. They are designed to house the standard glazing panels sizes that are 3700mm x 586mm x 6mm, 3700mm x 736mm x 8mm, 5100mm x 586mm x 6mm and 5100mm x 736mm x 8mm.

✓ No building consent is required for pergolas/verandahs under 30 square meters (conditions apply). If you’re not sure whether your project complies with the regulations, we suggest getting in touch with your local council/board to discuss.
✓ Our glazing panels can be used on the following types of canopies – porches and verandahs, carports or garages (parking shelters), domestic swimming pools, gazebos or pergolas, sunrooms, outdoor play areas
✓ The ClearVue® Panels have a 30 year guarantee on light transmission and will not become opaque or go yellow.
✓ The ClearVue® panels offer durable fade resistant performance for many years. The lightweight system is easily installed, and requires a lot less structural support than heavier alternatives like Glass. It is less expensive to install than Glass. The flexibility of the panels gives peace of mind and break resistance in cases of earthquakes, unlike Glass.
✓ The minimum pitch (slope) we recommend is 5 degrees, but if you wish to go less than that please check with us – you may be able to go as low as 3 degrees roof pitch.
✓ You can go up to 6.0 long from house to the front of the pergola depending on where your project is. If the area is in a very high wind zone you may need to reduce this length. (Consult the Span Tables for Span Bar)
