Timber shutters – frequently asked questions
What are the minimum and maximum dimensions of the Wanaka timber shutters?
The minimum width of an indoor Basswood shutter panel is 250 mm for central controls and 225 mm for Clearview control. The maximum width depends on the control style, blade width, and the height of the panel, ranging from 800 to 950 mm.
The minimum height of a PVC panel is generally 380 mm. The maximum height of a panel is 2400 mm for hinged bifold with track and 3000 mm for the rest of the systems.
Can you hinge the panels together?
Yes, but this system is not recommended for use with big size panels. We can only hinge 2 panels together, with the maximum height of 1850 mm and the maximum width of 600 mm.
What blade options are available?
We currently have 3 Aerofoil blade options available for our internal timber shutters range: 63, 89 and 114 mm. All are available in either centre control, clearview or off-set control. Please note that all blade sizes have minimum blade depth clearances – to ensure all blades have enough space to rotate.
What frame options are available?
There is a variety of standard timber shutter framing available to order with your shutters. Those include both L and Z shaped shutter frames. We can also supply additional items, such as T-posts to split the bigger frames into smaller openings. We also have an easy-to-use fixed channel system for fixed timber shutter panels – featuring U-Channels.
What is D-mould?
D-mould is a small panel on the stile of a shutter panel that covers the gap between two adjacent panels. This acts as a Light block and improves the look of the finished panel.
What hinges do you offer?
We have a carefully selected range of hinges to go with your indoor shutters. All hinges are non-mortise, making them much easier to install. They are supplied in the following colours: Snow, Creamy, Swiss Coffee, Brass, Antique Brass and Stainless Steel.
