Always check with your local council or any other authorities if there is any relevant building regulation that needs to be adhered to prior to installing a shade sail.
Take notes of the sun and its movements throughout the day to ensure you know the best location for the sail. Avoid any potential obstacles such as wires, pipes, bbq’s etc.

Shade sails look the best when they are designed and installed correctly. To obtain the best possible results, a preliminary design or sketch is preferred.
Height differences are a very important factor leading to a great looking sail – alternating higher and lower fixing points will ensure the sail is taut and tight. This will also improve its visual impact.
Are you looking to get full shade coverage? Consider overlapping the neighboring sails, due to the fact that all custom shade sails have curved edges to ensure tension. Please note that the some of the fixing points might have turnbuckles installed -resulting in 250-300 mm gaps.
All the doors and windows still need to be able to be open and shut – ensure that your new sail will sit well above the top of any of those.
