ClearVue® Sunguard Pergola
This custom-designed ClearVue® Sunguard Pergola provides a modern, light-filled outdoor living space while maintaining protection from the elements. The structure is attached directly to the house using custom soffit mounting brackets, creating a clean, integrated appearance without disrupting the existing gutter line.
The pergola measures 4000 mm wide with a 3610 mm projection, featuring a roof height of 2740 mm at the house and 3200 mm at the front. The roof is glazed with 8 mm Blue Breeze ClearVue® panels, offering approximately 70% light transmission while reducing solar heat gain to 55%, creating a bright yet comfortable outdoor environment.
The aluminium frame consists of a 100 × 50 RHS rear beam, 150 × 50 RHS front beam, and 125 × 125 × 3 SHS posts mounted on concealed SS316 stainless steel post feet for a sleek architectural finish. The frame is powder coated in a Dulux Silver Pearl colour to complement the home’s exterior.
To ensure a weather-tight installation, the pergola includes rear and side flashings, with one side flashing integrating neatly alongside the existing louvre roof. Rainwater is directed into the existing house gutter, eliminating the need for additional external downpipes and maintaining the home’s original drainage system.
The rear beam is secured using custom-fabricated soffit L-brackets, allowing it to sit in line with the existing gutter for a clean, minimalist appearance while providing excellent structural support.
