This custom ClearVue® roofing installation in Takapuna was designed to seamlessly extend an existing outdoor living area while maintaining a clean, modern architectural appearance. The project created a practical weather-protected connection between an existing louvre roof and adjacent shed structure, enhancing year-round usability without compromising natural light.
The roofing system utilised premium 8mm Grey Tint ClearVue® panels, chosen for their contemporary appearance and balanced solar performance. The grey tint helps reduce glare and soften sunlight while still allowing comfortable levels of natural light into the outdoor space.
The structure was engineered using ClearVue® span bars fixed directly between the existing louvre roof and the shed fascia, allowing rainwater to drain efficiently into the property’s existing guttering system. This approach eliminated the need for additional posts, maintaining an open and uncluttered outdoor area.
A powder coated aluminium 150×50 RHS front beam in Dulux Matt Ironsand provided both structural strength and a refined finish that integrates beautifully with the surrounding architecture and louvre system.
Due to the curved interface with the existing structure, the installation was carefully customised around the rafter layout, ensuring the cleanest possible finish while maintaining optimal water drainage and structural performance.
