This large-scale roofing installation at the Kumeū Arts Centre was completed as part of an Auckland Council project, showcasing a high-quality architectural solution designed for durability, functionality, and visual integration with the existing public facility. As council-approved installers, the project required meticulous attention to detail, compliance, and long-term performance.
The installation features a custom ClearVue® roofing system incorporating lightweight yet highly durable glazing panels mounted within a powder coated aluminium framework. Designed to maximise natural light while reducing heat transfer, the roofing creates comfortable, weather-protected outdoor areas suitable for public use year-round.
The project included:
- Main roof sections spanning 7400mm wide x 2300mm projection
- Additional roofing over the reception entrance measuring 3630mm wide x 2300mm projection
The system utilised premium 8mm Blue Breeze ClearVue® panels, delivering excellent clarity with balanced solar performance:
- 70% light transmission
- 55% heat transmission
This combination allows abundant natural light while helping minimise excessive heat build-up beneath the structure.
The supporting framework was engineered using robust powder coated aluminium components, including:
- 150×50 RHS rear and front beams
- 100x100x3 SHS aluminium posts
- Powder coated cast aluminium post feet
All aluminium components were finished in Dulux Charisma FlaxPod® Flat, creating a refined architectural appearance that complements the Arts Centre’s exterior palette.
Additional features included integrated Marley Classic spouting and RP80 downpipes for effective water management, along with custom rear flashings for seamless weatherproof integration against the building structure.
