Designed for coastal living on Waiheke Island, this premium aluminium shutter installation combines durability, flexibility, and modern architectural style. Positioned just 100 metres from the beach, the project required a high-performance finish capable of withstanding harsh coastal conditions while maintaining a refined appearance for years to come.
To achieve this, the shutters were custom powder coated in Pearl White Duratec, a specialist marine-grade finish specifically selected for superior resistance to salt air, UV exposure, and corrosion — ideal for beachfront environments.
The installation features multiple bi-folding shutter systems, custom manufactured in New Zealand and configured to suit each opening precisely. With a combination of left- and right-stacking layouts, the shutters provide excellent versatility, allowing the spaces to open up completely for uninterrupted indoor-outdoor flow and panoramic views.
Large 115mm blades create a bold contemporary aesthetic while maximising light control and airflow. The addition of the ClearView hidden tilt system keeps the appearance clean and uncluttered, enhancing the modern architectural feel of the home.
Each opening was fitted with flush bolts and patio bolts for secure locking and smooth operation, ensuring both functionality and peace of mind in a high-exposure coastal setting.
